About NGB

The Nederlands Genootschap van Bedrijfsjuristen (NGB) is the leading professional association for in-house counsel in the Netherlands. NGB supports legal professionals throughout their careers by promoting knowledge sharing, professional development and networking opportunities.

Each year, NGB organises more than 30 webinars, lectures and events, providing members with valuable insights into legal developments and best practices across a wide range of sectors and disciplines.

While many of our activities are conducted in Dutch, NGB also welcomes international in-house counsel working and living in the Netherlands. Through a growing range of English-language events, educational programmes and networking opportunities, we aim to connect and support an increasingly international community of legal professionals.

By joining NGB, you gain access to a dynamic network, high-quality training, and the opportunity to engage with colleagues across diverse companies and areas of law.

Legal Sections

NGB brings together nine legal sections, each organising two meetings per year. Every section focuses on a specific area of law, including Employment Law, Civil Law, Digital Law, Intellectual Property Law, Competition Law, Environmental Law, Data Protection Law and Corporate Law.

This enables members to exchange knowledge, connect with peers and stay up to date with legal developments in the Netherlands.

For most meetings, PO points are available for in-house counsel. English-language meetings are marked with an English flag.

NGB Extra

Each year, NGB partners with two law firms as its NGB Extra Offices. In 2026, these are La Gro and Eversheds Sutherland.

Together, they organise exclusive events for NGB members, including in-person meetings, webinars, roundtable discussions and English-language sessions. These activities provide valuable insights into current legal developments and opportunities to connect with fellow legal professionals.

Structured Feedback Groups (GIO)

NGB facilitates Structured Feedback Groups (GIO) for in-house counsel, providing a valuable opportunity for professional reflection and peer consultation.

We currently offer an English-language group with limited places available. Participants meet for at least eight hours per year.

As an organisation accredited by the Netherlands Bar Association (NOvA), NGB provides certificates of attendance and supports members in meeting their continuing education requirements.
