From CV screening to chatbots: Governing AI in HR
AI is rapidly transforming HR and recruitment. From CV screening and candidate scoring to employee monitoring, wellbeing tools and AI-powered chatbots. For in-house counsel, the challenge is clear: how do you enable innovation in people operations while remaining in control of legal, ethical and governance risks?
In this interactive session, we focus specifically on HR and recruitment use cases under the EU AI Act and related data protection requirements. We translate the legal framework into practical, actionable steps for in-house teams.
We will address how to assess risk classification of HR AI tools and what that means in practice, identify key obligations for deployers, and discuss what legal teams need to organise internally. We will also explore how to set up an effective AI and data governance framework, allocate ownership and accountability across Legal, HR, IT and Compliance, and manage vendor contracts and internal policies.
Drawing on hands-on experience supporting organisations implementing HR AI tools, we will share lessons learned and practical insights. The session is designed to encourage peer exchange and discussion, ensuring participants leave with concrete guidance they can immediately apply within their organisations, without slowing the business down.
